This is JUST what I needed! I went over to the etsy community and found this:
Etsy Shop Makeover Challenge Week 1
How perfect. This first week addresses the photos so I am going to work with some of those tips today and see what I can salvage.
Here's a cool lighting tip from that post.
Another REALLY good article about shop set-up, branding one's self, etc.

Up All Night
I can't believe I pulled an all-nighter. Resized all those photos and am still listing items up on etsy. The thing is - I am unsatisfied with how it is looking ... Granted, it looks better than it did, but not quite good enough. I'll keep going and then in i mprove later as I figure out how I want to do that.
At the moment, I am hovering somewhere between needing to sleep, and wanting to go make some coffee and just go, go, go for several more hours. -Can you smell the caffeine?

Creative Kat Is Here!
This is my EVERYTHING Creative blog. I have another that addresses the goings on in my two specialized etsy shops: ButterTree Press is for zines and other printed stuff and 1039 is for artbooks, journals, prints, stationery, scrapbook stash and other paper goods, including zines from ButterTree Press.
MadkatOCD is where everything else will go. I have had the shop open for a while, but I have not really had time to work with it until now. Having figured out how to separate my goods into some semblance of order, I spent the last month putting 1039 together and it is looking rather good, if I do say so. Butterfly has also opened a shop on etsy recently, and she has been figuring out marketing via BNR's and has gotten us a good amount of sales this month, so far. For me, most of them were on ButterTree...
So while Butterfly -Cerridwen- is mastering the BNR marketing, I will be spending the bulk of my etsy time this weekend, catching Madkat up with the other two shops, and studying the many marketing techniques on etsy. There is a LOT to do! There has to be hundreds of items around here that I need to photograph-resize-and-list ... I will pace myself to maybe 10 items a day. But the material available to read and watch that gives tips on busting out as an etsy power seller is extensive; I plan to absorb it ALL. Just have to take it one step at a time, and remain diligent about it.
Hopefully, this blog will keep me true to the goal.
